Mesin tersebut merupakan mesin terkecil yang diproduksi Fiat serta memiliki berat lebih ringan 10 persen dari mesin Fiat 500 empat silinder.

Lebih lanjut, walaupun dibekali dengan mesin kecil, namun mobil tersebut dapat berakselerasi dengan maksimum. Mesin 875 cc ini dapat menyemburkan tenaga 63 kW dan 145 Nm. Bahan bakarnya pun diklaim lebih irit jika dibandingkan dengan Fiat 500 versi empat silinder.

Selain itu, dari segi desain, Fiat 500 dengan mesin dua silinder dan empat silinder tidak ada bedanya, yang membedakan hanya silindernya. Secara keseluruhan, baik dari eksterior maupun interior desainnya tetap sama.
